The Shed
This was a great job! ... Dan Wise, client and friend, contacted me in 2000 to tell me he was
looking to buy a building. He wanted a nice big apartment for his family and a slamming recording
studio (Tay, I want the best room to record drums in NYC!). He asked if I would be interested in
working with him (This would be our third studio together). I said, "Sure!" In 2001 he found a
building on the east side in NYC. It was a 4 story building and we added a fifth floor for the studio,
allowing for a 22 ft. tall ceiling in the recording room. Construction started on Sept. 11, 2001. You
can imagine the hurdles everyone had to jump through. 9 months later the studio was completed!
The side diffusion panels are my tribute to the World Trade Centers. They are 16 ft. tall and 4 ft.
wide with back lighting.
